NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and is run by a non-profit writing group. The group challenges people from all over the world to write a 50,000 word novel between November 1st and November 30th.
If I had a bucket list¹, completing a NaNoWriMo novel would be one of the things on that list. For at least three years now, every October, I head over to the NaNoWriMo website, update my author page², and start dreaming about finally writing that novel! And then November 1st comes around and…..
Absolutely no words come to my mind for any of the dozens of story ideas I’ve thought about over the last month or so.
But this time? Oh, who the hell am I kidding. It’s exactly the same. A few story ideas, but nothing that really calls out to me and zero direction on where to start and what to write about.
This year could be different though, right?
I mean, it’s only November 2nd.
I can still do this.
¹I’m thinking I should make that bucket list. Yeah, today might be the perfect day to write it out. I mean, it’s not like I’m writing that freakin’ novel anyway, right?!?!?
